See what is on this week
Tuesday to Saturday, from six in the evening until ten, with a different kind of night every day and a mentor present at all of them.
Five evenings and a quiet weekend
| Day | Hours | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | 6 pm – 10 pm | Couch co-op night. Two screens run cooperative campaigns, with a mentor on each couch to hand out the controllers and explain the buttons. |
| Wednesday | 6 pm – 10 pm | Light board game night. Three long tables, three different gateway games, and each one is taught by playing a first round with the cards face up. |
| Thursday | 6 pm – 10 pm | Welcome-back night for anyone returning to games after a break. The pace is slow, the games are familiar in spirit and nobody keeps score. |
| Friday | 6 pm – 10 pm | Open couch and open table. Choose a screen or a board game, or bring something from home, and let the mentors help you find the right group. |
| Saturday | 6 pm – 10 pm | League night in season, and an open evening between seasons. Teams meet at the screens and tables while Deborah referees from the middle of the room. |
| Sunday | Closed | The club room rests. The chat server stays open for anyone who wants to arrange the week ahead. |
| Monday | Closed | Volunteers tidy the shelves, repair worn boxes and plan the coming nights. The chat server is still moderated. |
Small things that make the evening easier
Arrive any time after six; there is no fixed start, and a mentor will bring you up to speed with whatever is running.
Wear whatever is comfortable, because the heater is generous and the couches are deep and forgiving.
Tell a mentor if you would like to play with other newcomers, and they will gather a group at a table or screen.
Bring a favourite game only if you wish to; the shelves, controllers and tables are all supplied free of charge.
If you need to leave early, simply wave to the nearest mentor; nobody expects an explanation or a farewell.
On total fire ban days the room may close, so check the chat server before setting out.
Tell a mentor about any seating or access need beforehand, and the room will be arranged so that you are comfortable from the start.
If you would like to help, say so; every mentor began as a newcomer who offered to carry a box, and there is always a role for one more pair of hands.
